The Bristol Society of Opticians Background This Society (BSO) is a very active local optical society, independent of Avon LOC, and with a good cross section of the local optometric community. There are currently over 90 members (and growing in strength each year), with an average attendance of between 40-50 at each meeting. Its aim is to provide high quality, cost effective Continuing Education to registered opticians and associated students, and to provide a platform for discussion amongst individual members. The BSO is funded by an annual membership subscription or individual meeting fees (currently £25 per year, or £5 for an individual meeting; students free), and additional funding is sought from industry sponsorship.
