The Avon Local Optical Committee has produced this Resources and Referrals Guide for optometrists. It contains information about services available locally. The guidelines for referral are designed to assist us with decisions about referral and to help with the referral process. They describe what would be in the patient’s best interests and are not intended to be a set of instructions to be complied with at all times. We are very grateful for all the help we have been given in compiling the Resources and Referrals Guide, particularly by the Bristol Eye Hospital. We plan to update it on a regular basis and welcome suggestions and corrections.
